Herbal Tea Remedy

Herbal Tea Remedy / A Little Background

I have often been asked for a list of the best herbal teas. Tea, overall, is the most consumed beverage on the planet. More people drink tea than any other drink. And that’s good news, because even plain ice tea packs offer many beneficial phyto-chemicals that boost our immune system and protect our cells from the damage of daily assault.

Herbal Tea Remedy

I have a collection of teas in my pantry, which I use when I need an herbal tea remedy.

Here are my favorite teas that I use for the occasional natural herbal tea remedy:

  1. Throat Coat (Traditional Medicinals) Sore Throat tea (by Traditional Medicinals), which is slippery elm bark that nicely coats a raw sore throat. Slippery Elm bark capsules are also made into a liquid tea to coat inflamed intestines.

  2. Smooth Move also by Traditional Medicinals), which is a gentle laxative tea.

  3. Burdock Root Tea by Alvita for purging toxins out of the blood stream, especially the lymph system.

  4. Goldenseal Root Tea by Alvita for antibiotic rinses, oral and skin, and to kill dysentery bacteria internally that causes food poisoning.

  5. Myrrh Tea - Herb Pharm (or liquid tincture made into a tea) for any oral inflammation, such as pain from braces and mouth sores.

  6. Black Walnut Tea - Nature's Answer (or liquid tincture made into a tea) to kill worms, and parasites in the liver, blood stream and colon.

  7. Echinacea Root Tea by Alvita (or liquid tincture made into a tea) to boost the immune system during a cold attack, and to purge the spleen and lymph system.

  8. Horsetail Grass Tea by Alvita contains vegetable silica for lustrous hair and skin. Drink one cup daily and also rinse your hair with one cool cup to strengthen your hair. Solgar also makes Vegetable silica capsules, which is used by quite a few movie stars for thick lustrous hair and beautiful skin. Silica is also important for healthy bones.

  9. Uva Ursi Tea, from Alvita, also known as bearberry, is used during bladder infections as a gentle diuretic to purge the kidneys and bladder. Watermelon Seed Tea from Alvita is also used for bladder infections for its Corn Silk Tea, from Alvita, coats an inflamed bladder during infection.

  10. Eucalyptus Tea, from Alvita, can be drunk for its antiseptic and stimulating properties, but I like to throw mine in hot water to make an aromatic hot soak.

  11. Chamomile Tea, is very calming. I have a cup after a long day or when I need to just relax.

  12. Peppermint Tea is great for soothing an upset stomach and it tastes great too.
Most of these teas also come in liquid extract tinctures and capsules.
