Home Remedy for Athlete Foot
A good home remedy for athlete foot focuses on understanding what causes athlete foot and how to bring it under control.
Athlete foot is caused by a fungus that belongs to the family of fungi known as dermatophytes. These are yeast like substances, which are parasitic in nature.
Dermatophytes are opportunistic, in that some thing has had to go wrong in the immune system and natural flora in the colon for them to attack the skin, scalp, groin area, toenails, fingernails, space between the toes and skin on the soles of the feet.
Dermatophytes that cause athlete foot thrive in moist, warm environments, such as shower floors, and tennis shoes. Athlete foot is highly contagious and has preference for the protected space between the toes but will also eat on the skin that makes up the sole of the feet. Athlete foot starts out with sever itching and progresses to deep, painful cracks that can bleed.

Fungi (yeast) are ever present with us. The issue is this: what circumstances, or practices promote fungal infections?
- Most antibiotic use sets us up for yeast (fungal) infection. The natural bacterial beneficial balance in the colon is killed and yeast takes over. So if you have to take an antibiotic, make sure you take two acidophilus tablets two hours after the dose to restore the naturally good bacteria it killed. (One day, chemo drugs and antibiotics will only target the bad things and leave all of the good things alone in us. That day is coming!)
- Our diet of refined microwave TV dinners, high sugar, etc. set us up to get a yeast imbalance in our bodies. Fungus (yeast) love sugar!
- Women with yeast infections pass them only to their sexual partners who may experience yeast rooted bladder infections and athlete foot, and ringworm, which are caused by fungal yeast.
- Some people are very sensitive to the yeast fermentation process used in beer production. For some, high beer consumption causes yeast (fungus) infections. The formaldehyde (embalming fluid) used to prevent spoilage in beer also seems to promote fungus imbalance in the body (by destroying beneficial colon flora), not mention being highly carcinogenic. Why do you think colon cancer patients are forbidden to drink beer for the rest of their lives?

- To gain relief from the painful cracking of athlete foot, near bedtime, first soak the feet (both feet) in warm salty water.
- Then soak feet, or dab on hydrogen peroxide to the areas to oxygenate. Rinse the feet thoroughly.
- Blow dry the feet afterward on low heat, especially between the toes.
- Apply a thick paste make of 1 mashed garlic clove, ½ tsp. Colloidal Silver
and 3 drops liquid. Grapefruit seed extract .
- After applying paste, dust between the toes with Mexana powder and cover the feet with socks.
- Take 2 odorless Garlic capsules
3 times daily.
- Avoid consuming sugar and starches (which feeds the yeast) until the feet are healed.
- Dust your shoes with the Mexana powder too and place one raw garlic clove in each shoe overnight, each night to kill the yeast in the shoe.
- Some people like to use tea tree oil powder
too and doctor the feet with the oil too, which is highly anti-fungal. I have done both regimens successfully.
- Eat sugarless kefir or yogurt during this time also, or take acidophilus tablets to knock the yeast back into its place. Keep these live bacteria under refrigeration.

Special Alert:
Lamisil, the popular antifungal medication has caused at least one man to die of a rare blood cancer from using Lamisil. This man was otherwise healthy, but his wife thought that he had contracted the flu. I think more people have to die before it is banned from the market. Any type of internal or external anti-fungal medication can cause liver failure, and liver cancer also. Be very careful with these types of medications. The jury is still out on these powerful chemicals and we don’t know their effect upon developing children or women of childbearing age. So proceed with great caution.
This is one instance when I lean heavily upon natural remedies for yeast and fungal infections.
